The back room runs a rotating set of pinball machines (recent: Godzilla, Jurassic Park, Stranger Things, Mandalorian), a working skee-ball lane, and a small bench of classic upright cabinets — Galaga, Ms. Pac-Man, Mortal Kombat-era fighters depending on the swap cycle. Tables are kept playable: tight flippers, clean glass, the right ball count. Pay-to-play, usually $1 per pinball credit. No tokens, no wristbands, no card system. Most adult-arcade nights at Harbor Town follow the same arc. Start at the front bar with a cocktail or a draft off the drink menu during happy hour (Mon–Fri 3–6). Order wings or a burger to share. Migrate to the back when the front gets loud — usually around 7. Two or three pinball games, a skee-ball round, another round of drinks. Catch the back half of the Padres game on the way out. Total damage: well under what a chain entertainment complex runs for the same evening.

Thursday is the locals' arcade night — quiet enough to actually play, busy enough to feel like a night out. Friday post-work is the bachelorette / birthday-group window. Sunday afternoon during the late NFL window is great if you want the room mostly to yourselves while everyone's watching the game up front. Avoid the very early evening on Saturdays in summer — that's the family-dining window, and the back fills with hotel groups passing through.

Point Loma hosts a lot of bachelor and bachelorette weekends because of the Shelter Island hotels. Harbor Town's back room is one of the most-booked stops on those itineraries — full bar at the door, arcade in the back, dog-friendly patio for the smoke breaks, and no "bottle minimum" nonsense.
