Why Harbor Town Pub Is Point Loma's Neighborhood Pub

Open since 2011 on Rosecrans, Harbor Town Pub is the local where Point Loma actually drinks — not a tourist bar, not a chain, just the neighborhood's pub.

Walk into Harbor Town Pub on a Tuesday at 5pm and you'll see the same thing you'd see on a Saturday at noon: people who live a few blocks away, bartenders who know their orders, and a Padres game on overhead. We've been the neighborhood pub on Rosecrans since 2011, and that word — neighborhood — is the whole thing.

What "neighborhood pub" actually means in Point Loma

Point Loma has plenty of bars. Marina spots, hotel lounges, breweries up the hill, dive bars closer to the airport. Harbor Town is the in-between: a proper pub with a full food menu, 16 taps on the drink list, TVs angled so every booth sees the game, and a patio that's open to dogs and to whoever wanders in from a walk along Shelter Island. It's the place locals send out-of-town friends to when they want to show them what real Point Loma feels like.

Who's actually here

Fishermen coming off charters at Fisherman's Landing. Boat owners walking up from the marina. Pilots and crew between flights. Families from La Playa and Roseville. Retirees who've been coming since the day we opened. There's no dress code, no velvet rope, no door fee on a Friday — it's a pub.

Not a sports bar with food, not a restaurant with TVs

We're both. The kitchen runs all day. The bar opens early enough for breakfast on weekends and stays open late enough for last-call locals. When the Padres are on or NFL Sunday hits, we lean into being a sports bar in Point Loma — but the burgers and the happy hour keep going whether the game's on or not.
